Helping students succeed since 2012

Both my Daughter and Son Tutorbox London Wembley. They were both slightly struggling with their Maths and the classes have led to a big improvement. The English classes have also helped them improve further. The classes that run over the holidays are also really good as not only does it keep them entertained one day a week but also helps them maintain both their Math and English skills. I would highly recommend these classes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

TutorBox is registered as an Ofsted-registered childcare provider, yes. You can read more information here about the benefits of choosing an Ofsted-registered tuition centre.

Depending on the services you are interested in and whether you meet the eligibility criteria, it is possible to claim back childcare costs from Universal Credit and Student Finance. Get in touch to discuss options with a member of management.

It really does depend on so many factors, but we’re happy to help you navigate this decision. We would need to consider your child’s age, academic ability, their maturity level and ultimately, what we’re trying to achieve. Our short answer is usually: if you can trust your child to work well independently then online is both convenient and cost-effective. If you prefer to have them supervised by an adult, in-centre is better.

1-1 tuition is usually ideal for students who are (A) top-performers already so they want dedicated attention on topics they struggle with, or (B) students that are struggling and need personalised attention.

For most students, however, groups provide an organised, structured and fun learning environment. The intention is to give your child an advantage by teaching & reviewing topics they will learn at school, ensuring they fully understand and feel confident heading into their exams.

We accept direct payments made by cash, card or bank transfers.

Parents who are full-time students, receiving the Childcare Grant from Student Finance, can use that service to cover 85% of their fees.

Families on Universal Credit or Working Tax Credit may also be eligible to claim up to 85% of their childcare costs through Childcare Allowance.

If you receive Tax-Free Childcare, you can get 20% of your costs covered, meaning for every £8 you pay the government will pay an additional £2 towards your costs. Click here to see if you are eligible.

Lastly, if you are registered with childcare voucher providers such as EdenRed, Computershare, KiddiVouchers, Care-4, Fideliti and Co-op (and more), we can accept payments through them.

Primary students have a variety of options throughout the week: Mondays to Thursdays from 17:00 - 19:00, and weekends from 10:00 - 12:00, 12:15 - 14:15 and 14:30 - 16:30 — subject to spaces.

To find out our current availability for secondary students, please get in touch.

Our average group sessions range between 4 to 6 students for primary lessons, and anywhere from 8 to 10 students for secondary.

We’re very proud to have a tutor team that ranges from qualified teachers and academics to trainee teachers, graduates and university students. Of course we hire tutors that have an excellent academic background themselves and provide a lot of value in a classroom, but what we’re most proud of is that every tutor here genuinely cares about seeing their students improve and succeed.

You can expect to see improvements in your child’s grades by about 12 weeks. This is based on a range of factors like:

  • Is homework getting done to a high standard?
  • Is your child revising consistently?
  • Do they focus in class?
  • Are they making a conscious effort to revise for exams?
  • Do they ask for help whenever they need it?

Every child’s progression is different, but as long as the student applies themselves and the points above get done consistently, most of our students show strong progress in under 12 weeks.

For students in one-to-one lessons, yes, we can support them with whatever school work is needed. Students in group settings however must align with the pre-set syllabus we’ve prepared, in order to make efficient use of the time.

Helping students succeed since 2012
I wanted to share my experience with TutorBox. My son began attending tutoring sessions in year six and continued through his GCSEs. I can confidently say that his academic performance has improved significantly during these years. He is now able to achieve a grade 8 in both math and science with full confidence. I want to express my gratitude to all the teachers at TutorBox for their support. I highly recommend TutorBox to everyone.
